Based on real estate market reports by StreetEasy and the MLS, Beverly Hills, California, and New York’s Upper West Side are the leaders in home sales prices over $10 million in the last 12 months.
Coldwell Banker claims Beverly Hills’ 90210 ZIP code had 18 purchase transactions and Manhattan’s 10023 had 17 in the year as of June 2013. Aspen, Colorado 81611, and New York’s Upper East Side 10021 ZIP codes, both came in third place with 16 transactions a piece. It’s interesting to note that Aspen was the only non-coastal city in the U.S. top 20.
Affluent home buyers, sparked by borrowing money cheap with low interest rates, profits in the stock market, and a housing market on the uptrend, million-dollar-plus home sales in the U.S. are rising.
Coldwell Banker states that Aspen’s 81611 ZIP code enjoyed the greatest number of $10 million or more listings at 56. Next in line is the desirable city of Malibu, California 90265, with 43 listings; and ZIP code 10065 in NYC’s Upper East Side at 37.
